Prof. Halil Hasar, Director of Climate Change, received Ambassador Kok Li Peng of Singapore and her accompanying delegation. Expressing his pleasure regarding the visit, Director Hasar engaged in discussions concerning global climate action and sustainability.
During the inter-delegation meeting, which detailed international climate efforts and action plans, the participants emphasized the necessity of advancing priority environmental and climate themes through cooperation with key actors and strengthening solidarity between nations. The delegations also addressed the critical importance of active engagement from the private sector and International Financial Institutions in this process.
During the meeting, Ambassador Peng was accompanied by Ann Margaret Mathew, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Singaporean Embassy; Calvin Chong, Director of Energy and Climate Policy at the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment; Venkat Kumaran, Deputy Director of Energy and Climate Policy at the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment; Wong Weng Yeng, Senior Official at the International Policy Department of the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment; and Jonathan Edward Lim, First Secretary at the Singaporean Embassy.
Following the meeting, Ambassador Peng presented Director Hasar with a painting representing Singapore.
