Deputy Director of Climate Change Tuğba Dinçbaş, PhD, delivered the opening address at the conference organized as part of the Anadolu Informatics Gatherings.
Speaking at the meeting held under the theme Technology for the Construction Sector, Deputy Director Dinçbaş emphasized that the sector is undergoing a profound transformation driven by innovative technologies and digitalization.
Noting that advanced technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and artificial intelligence are making project management more efficient and that smart city applications are promoting energy efficiency and environmentally friendly buildings, Dinçbaş also stated that energy efficiency, electrification, the circular economy, and the use of green building materials are high on the sector’s agenda.
Referring to practices such as the use of green cement, the application of digital technologies throughout the entire life cycle of buildings, and energy performance certificates as being critical to environmental sustainability in the sector, Dinçbaş indicated that Türkiye aims to enhance its global competitiveness by developing technology-driven strategies in the construction industry, and that this transformation is of major importance for both environmental and economic sustainability.
The online meeting was also attended by Prof. Gonca Telli Yamamoto, Chair of the Advisory Board of the Anadolu Informatics Gatherings, Haldun Ersen, PhD, Chair of the Urban Transformation and Urbanism Foundation, as well as leading academics and sector representatives.
