Hosted by the Directorate General of Combating Desertification and Erosion and organized with the participation of relevant institutions, the meeting was attended by Deputy Director of Climate Change Dr. Tuğba Dinçbaş.
Over the two-day meeting, participants aimed to enhance synergies among activities carried out under the three Rio Conventions of the United Nations, namely the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Convention on Biological Diversity, and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, and to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation.
Alongside the Directorate of Climate Change, representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s Directorate General of Nature Conservation and National Parks also attended the Rio Synergy Meeting.
Throughout the meeting, participating institutions exchanged experiences and reviewed coordination and capacity-building efforts aimed at supporting shared objectives across the implementation areas of the conventions.
