The Directorate of Climate Change organized a training program for 81 provincial directorates. The program was designed to strengthen institutional capacity in the fight against climate change and provided provincial directors with technical and practical instruction.
Held in Antalya over two days and organized by the Department of Monitoring of Greenhouse Gas Emissions, the training focused on enhancing the technical and operational capacities of provincial directorates in line with work carried out under regulations, communiqués, circulars, guidelines, and manuals.

Delivering the opening remarks of the training organized in cooperation with the Climate Change Presidency and the Cool Up Project, Volkan Polat, Head of the Department for Monitoring Greenhouse Gas Emissions, briefed the participating provincial directors on ongoing efforts. This was followed by comprehensive presentations on the work of the Directorate of Climate Change and other relevant institutions, along with detailed briefings on procedures and operations carried out within the Directorate.

The General Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permit, and Inspection outlined environmental inspection processes, while a representative of the Ministry of Trade briefed participants on illegal refrigerant trade and the role of customs in combating it.
Throughout the program, interactive sessions addressed challenges encountered in the field, during which solutions were developed and examples of good practice were shared.

The training was underlined as being particularly important in strengthening local implementation capacity, ensuring consistency in practice, and promoting a more effective and coordinated approach to climate action. Training programs organized by the Directorate of Climate Change will continue nationwide with the participation of all provincial directorates.
