During the forum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change Murat Kurum held a series of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening international cooperation in the fight against the climate crisis, where he shared Türkiye’s Climate Change Action Plan, the Zero Waste Project, and the country’s 2035 and 2053 targets, particularly in the fields of environment, climate, and urbanization.

Held under the theme “Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World,” the fourth edition of the forum was attended by Director of Climate Change Prof. Halil Hasar, who accompanied Minister Kurum.

Speaking at the high-level panel titled “Climate Diplomacy and Leadership in the New Era,” Minister Kurum outlined Türkiye’s long-term environmental vision. 

Throughout the three-day forum, Minister Kurum was accompanied by Director of Climate Change Prof. Halil Hasar during the panel on Climate Diplomacy and Leadership in the New Era.

Addressing the panel, Minister Kurum said: “We will continue to act with a solution-oriented approach that safeguards our country’s interests and aims to secure new gains in addressing the climate crisis.”

Minister Kurum and Director Hasar also held discussions on Türkiye’s candidacy to host COP31.

In addition, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change set up an exhibition stand at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum to present Türkiye’s COP31 candidacy.
