Organized by the Directorate of Climate Change and implemented with the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Training on Good Practices in the HVAC-R Sector and F-Gas Leak Control Practices most recently took place in Ankara.
Representing the Directorate of Climate Change at the program, Head of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Monitoring Department Volkan Polat briefed participants on Türkiye’s efforts related to fluorinated greenhouse gases within the broader framework of climate change mitigation.
The program attracted strong interest from sector stakeholders, and the wider use of the EKOMVET system also featured prominently among the agenda items.
During the trainings, participants receive comprehensive technical information on applicable legislation governing fluorinated greenhouse gases, obligations related to the EKOMVET electronic database—including logbooks for equipment containing or operating with fluorinated greenhouse gases—certification of technical personnel for fluorinated-gas equipment, service qualification certification, leak detection and control practices for fluorinated greenhouse gases, and examples of good practices in the HVAC-R sector.
The program, which has previously taken place in the provinces of Bursa, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Denizli, Manisa, Antalya, and Mersin, will continue with the aim of strengthening the knowledge base and technical capabilities of industrial stakeholders and sector professionals.
