The Directorate of Climate Change delivered training on good practices in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC-R) sector for Organized Industrial Zones and technical service providers.
“Training on Good Practices in the HVAC-R Sector” was organized by the Directorate of Climate Change with the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The sessions were held in Antalya and Mersin with strong participation.
Speaking at opening ceremony of the training program, Head of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Monitoring Department Volkan Polat, briefed participants on Türkiye’s efforts related to fluorinated greenhouse gases within the broader framework of combating climate change.
He also underscored the critical contributions of industrial stakeholders and trained technical personnel operating in the field.
The trainings provided comprehensive information on technical topics such as the latest legislation regarding fluorinated greenhouse gases, obligations related to the EKOMVET electronic database containing logbooks of equipment containing or operating with these gases, the TS13905 Service Competence Certificate, leak detection practices for fluorinated greenhouse gases, and good practice examples in the HVAC-R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration) sector.
In addition to the training sessions, a technical meeting was held with academic staff from the HVAC-R Department of Akdeniz University’s Vocational School of Basic Sciences.
The training programs, aimed at strengthening the knowledge and technical capacity of industrial stakeholders and sector professionals, are set to continue in other provinces.
