The 47th Meeting of the Open-Ended Working Group of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer kicked off in Bangkok. The Directorate of Climate Change also participated in the meeting organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Ozone Secretariat.

Türkiye was represented at the meeting, attended by 198 Parties to the Montreal Protocol on ozone-depleting substances, by Deputy Director of Climate Change Mehrali Ecer and the accompanying delegation on behalf of the Directorate of Climate Change.

In addition to a detailed presentation of the report prepared by the Technical and Economic Assessment Panel, the meeting also addressed a guidance document prepared by the secretariat for a licensing system in refrigerant trade, life-cycle analysis of refrigerants, and the evaluation of the Multilateral Fund’s budget.

The Turkish delegation also held bilateral meetings with other Parties and international organizations and conducted various diplomatic engagements.

Head of Monitoring of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Department Volkan Polat also accompanies the Deputy Director Ecer in the four-day meeting.
