The Directorate of Climate Change organized a training program on combating climate change for district governor candidates.

As part of the training programs conducted by the Ministry of Interior to enhance the professional knowledge and experience of district governor candidates, a session titled “Türkiye’s Policies on Combating Climate Change” was delivered within the framework of the “Training Course Program for 110th Term District Governors.”

The session was attended by Dr. Veysel Selimoğlu, Head of the Technology and Green Transition Department at the Directorate of Climate Change.

During his presentation, Dr. Selimoğlu provided detailed information on “the impacts of climate change, the Regulation on Local Climate Change Action Plans (YİDEP), climate projection studies, and Türkiye’s first Climate Law” to the district governor candidates who will take up office.

Within the scope of the program, the importance of implementing climate change policies at the local level was underlined.
