Climate Change Director Prof. Halil Hasar paid an official visit to the office of the Governor of Niğde Cahit Çelik as part of his stay in the province for a series of engagements.

Climate Change Director Prof. Halil Hasar paid an official visit to the office of the Governor of Niğde Cahit Çelik as part of his stay in the province for a series of engagements. Prof. Hasar, who was in Niğde to attend a range of events, including the closing ceremony of the project “Creating Economic Opportunities for Rural Women in Adaptation to Climate Change” implemented by Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University with the support of the Directorate of Climate Change, as well as the Climate Talks programs, began his program with a courtesy visit to the Office of the Governor.

Governor Çelik welcomed the visit and held consultations with Prof. Hasar on the impacts of climate change on Niğde, one of the provinces affected by the climate crisis, and on the measures that need to be taken. Following his visit to the Governor’s Office, Prof. Hasar proceeded to the university, where he toured the Central Research Laboratory operating within the institution and received briefings from the scientists on duty.

Prof. Hasar also visited the Zero Waste Corner established on campus. Deputy Director of Climate Change Mehrali Ecer accompanied Prof. Hasar during the visits.
