The Directorate of Climate Change’s Department of Climate Finance and Incentives convened with finance-sector stakeholders in İstanbul as part of the Technical Assistance Project for Developing Türkiye’s National Green Taxonomy, which is being carried out in partnership with the French Development Agency (AFD).

Hosted by the Industrial Development Bank of Türkiye (TSKB), the meeting brought together representatives from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), the Banks Association of Türkiye (TBB), as well as various commercial and development banks to exchange views on financial regulations in the context of Türkiye’s Green Taxonomy Regulation and the Climate Law.

At the meeting, the Department of Climate Finance and Incentives delivered a presentation on the latest developments regarding the taxonomy and the corresponding roadmap, while Frankfurt School presented the project’s technical and legal outputs.

Participants shared their feedback on both the Taxonomy and the project, and the discussions underscored the importance of working closely with the finance sector to strengthen Türkiye’s green finance ecosystem.
