Director of Climate Change Prof. Halil Hasar took part in Anadolu Agency’s “Photos of the Year” voting, which features photographs taken in Türkiye and abroad throughout 2024 by AA reporters and photojournalists and was prepared with the contributions of “Roketsan, Lifebox, and Sony.”

After reviewing the entries in the “News,” “Wildlife and Environment,” “Sports,” “Daily Life,” and the newly introduced “Free Syria” categories, Director Hasar cast his vote in the “Wildlife and Environment” category for Şebnem Coşkun’s photograph titled “Fragmented Ice.”

Stressing that the photograph he selected in the “Wildlife and Environment” category draws attention to global warming, Director Hasar noted that all of the submitted images were highly accomplished, that each conveyed a distinct meaning, and that they collectively reflected a tremendous amount of effort.

In the “Free Syria” category, Director Hasar selected Emin Sansar’s photograph titled “Despite Everything,” in the “News” category he chose Barış Seçkin’s “Foreign Affairs,” and in the “Sports” category he voted for the frame titled “Gratitude,” which features national team footballer Arda Güler.

In the “Daily Life” category, Director Hasar cast his vote for Osmancan Gürdoğan’s photograph titled “Miners,” and congratulated all working journalists at Anadolu Agency for their dedication and contributions.
