Director of Climate Change Hasar met with young Climate Envoys at the Directorate, where he received briefings on their ongoing activities and project portfolios. The Climate Envoys, who implement a wide range of initiatives at universities, outlined their current work and shared their priorities and objectives for the coming year. During detailed presentations, the Envoys also conveyed the operational challenges they face in implementing their projects. Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, Director Hasar underscored the value the Directorate places on the Climate Envoys, noting that each Envoy serves as a representative voice and reaffirming the Directorate’s commitment to providing full institutional support for their initiatives.
Emphasizing the importance attached to youth engagement, Director Hasar listened in detail to the activities undertaken and the targets set by each Envoy. He stressed that the Climate Envoys should not hesitate to seek assistance whenever they encounter difficulties, describing entrepreneurial young people as the driving force behind the country’s future. Director Hasar also provided up-to-date briefings on climate change developments at both national and international levels, addressing the impacts of climate change on Türkiye, the work of the Directorate of Climate Change, green transformation, and food security.
Highlighting the strategic importance of clean energy and clean production technologies, Director Hasar said, “Countries that seek to develop must deploy clean energy technologies. Within the framework of the National Technology Initiative, you young people need to be more entrepreneurial and more proactive in advancing green transition.”
Following the meeting, the Climate Envoys held a working session with senior officials of the Directorate of Climate Change, during which they exchanged views on planned projects and forthcoming activities.
