With support from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the training sessions titled “F-Gas Leak Detection Practices” and “Good Practices in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Sector” were held in Denizli and Manisa with broad participation.

Speaking at one of the training sessions, Volkan Polat, Head of Monitoring of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Department, briefed participants on the work Türkiye has been carrying out as part of climate change mitigation efforts, emphasizing that national obligations are being successfully fulfilled.

He also underscored the critical contributions of industrial stakeholders and trained technical personnel operating in the field.

The training sessions provided comprehensive technical information on the applicable legislation concerning fluorinated greenhouse gases, obligations related to the EKOMVET electronic database—including logbooks for equipment containing or operating with fluorinated greenhouse gases, the Vocational Qualification Authority’s certification titled “Technical Personnel for Equipment Containing Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases” (Certificate No. 19UY0401-5), the TS 13905 Service Qualification Certificate, leak detection practices for fluorinated greenhouse gases, and good practices in the HVAC-R sector.

As part of ongoing efforts to gradually phase down the use of fluorinated greenhouse gases, plans are in place to expand these training programs nationwide.
