The Integrated Reporting Association of Türkiye (ERTA) organized a workshop within the scope of its 10th anniversary events. The “TSRS-Compliant Integrated Reporting and Audit Technical Workshop” was held in Istanbul under the main theme “Türkiye’s Green Transformation Adaptation Process: Strategy, Policy, and Practices.”

The opening speech of the event, which addressed the strategic steps that need to be taken in order for Türkiye to achieve its green and sustainable growth targets, was delivered by Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Çetin Ali Dönmez. The event, where policies, practices, and legal processes were reviewed in all their dimensions, also welcomed Deputy Director of Climate Change Mehrali Ecer, Head of the Public Oversight Authority Dr. Hasan Özçelik, and Capital Markets Board Chairman İbrahim Ömer Gönül.

Within the scope of the event, panel sessions addressed the following topics in detail: “Legislative Regulations, Legal Obligations, and Implementation Processes,” “The Legal Framework of Sustainability and Its Impacts on Companies in Türkiye,” “First TSRS-Compliant Reports: Implementation and Experience Sharing,” and “Evaluation of the First Reports within the Scope of TSRS: Baseline Analysis.”

Speaking at the panel session titled “Legislative Regulations, Legal Obligations, and Implementation Processes,” Deputy Director of Climate Change Mehrali Ecer indicated that achieving the “net zero” target requires a major transformation across all sectors and, in parallel, the realization of comprehensive investments.

Deputy Director Ecer said, “Access to finance is critical to the contribution our country will make in tackling climate change. We are in the final stages of completing the Türkiye Green Taxonomy Regulation. Through this taxonomy, we will ensure that the financial resources required to deliver the green transition we have been pursuing are effectively channeled into green investments.”

At the panel session, public policies shaping Türkiye’s green transition were examined through a holistic lens, with participants sharing detailed information on the legal framework in force, published guidance documents, available incentive mechanisms, and ongoing capacity-building efforts.

Moreover, the strategic roles assumed by public institutions and relevant ministries in the green transition process, together with the impact of these institutions on implementation, were assessed from a multidimensional and comprehensive perspective.
